About
Dr. Tiffany A. Wright, LCSW
I've spent 15 years+ as a clinician, program leader, and educator, and my work keeps returning to one truth: people heal better together, and they heal better outside.I'm a licensed clinical social worker in California, Nevada, and Texas. I hold a Doctor of Social Work from Morgan State University and an MSW from Columbia University and am a certified ecotherapist through the Earthbody Institute. My research examines ecotherapy as a culturally grounded, community-based practice, including radicalized ecogrief and ecomemory, with a focus on Black communities and the ancestral relationship with land that long predates the word "ecotherapy." I developed the community ecosession, a facilitated group model I've published on and led in parks across California and Nevada. That same work now shapes how I support organizations, schools, and clinicians.I ground my practice in womanist and African-centered frameworks. Above all, I am a Black woman, motivated by love, legacy, liberation, and service.
My Wellness Approach
My mission is to help break cycles of dis-ease, disconnection, and communal struggle by creating spaces for healing, reflection, and restoration. Whether I’m working with individuals, teams, communities, or fellow clinicians, I approach healing and transformation holistically, with a focus on tools for self-reflection and nature-based healing.Embracing Culturally Affirming Practices
My clinical, community, and research work centers ancestral and culturally grounded approaches to healing and liberation, drawing on ways of caring for well-being that existed long before colonization.
How I work
-
Clinically grounded. As a licensed clinician, I can hold hard moments safely when real feelings come up.
-
Research-informed. My group approach is peer-reviewed and field-tested with real groups in real places.
-
Experiential. People remember what they feel in their bodies. Time outdoors, guided reflection, and movement do what another slide deck can't.
Beyond the work
I'm happiest outside: visiting national parks, hiking, and diving. I'm an avid traveler who loves journaling, painting, and sharing food with community.
